I try to burn an AVI file in a blank DVD disc with Xilisoft AVI to DVD?

In each session burned, read finished / completed, I try see the DVD on my computer, but it seems that the disc is blank? And I made sure that when I burn, the destination is like my blank disc, a DVD-R blank why? This happened with many other programs.
