U.S. Retail sales fell 1.1 percent during the first half of September compared to October. Target was a decrease of 1.0 percent. Seasonally adjusted sales for the month to date were up 0.7 percent in October 2007, online with the objective. On an unadjusted basis, sales for the week ending 18 October were up 0.8 percent from the same week in 2007, after a gain of 0.5 percent in the previous week. ICSC-Goldman Sachs Chain Store Sales of 1.6 percent the week of Oct. 18. Chicago Fed 3-Mo average shows a growing risk of recession, Chicago Fed Index September 3 month moving average fell 1.78 compared to a decrease of 1.18 in August, September Chicago Fed National Activity Index fell drop to 2.57 against 1.61 in August.
